Background:
Professor Asmis is the author of Epicurus' Scientific Method (1984) and articles on Plato, Philodemus, Lucretius, Seneca, and Marcus Aurelius. Her current research focuses on Hellenistic poetics, Stoic ethics, Cicero's political philosophy, and the language of Plato. Her teaching covers Greek and Roman philosophy and literary criticism.
