Background:


Howard Nusbaum is the chair of the Department of Psychology and a previous chair of the Committee on Cognition and Communication. He has written numerous articles on speech and memory. In the laboratory, Professor Nusbaum focuses on three cognitive mechanisms - attention, working memory and learning - and the intersections of these mechanisms in language processing.
