Arnold Davidson works in moral and political philosophy, the history and philosophy of psychiatry and medicine, contemporary French philosophy and the history of philosophy. He is also executive editor of the journal Critical Inquiry. He has written on medical ethics, political philosophy, the history and philosophy of psychiatry, medicine, and sexuality, contemporary French philosophy, and the history of philosophy. He is the author of The Emergence of Sexuality: Historical Epistemology and the Formation of Concepts.
